For the extra $20 over the cost of 1Click DVD Copy 5, you get more customization options along with a video preview window. As you can see, it is easy to work with and fairly self explanatory. The video preview window is nice because it allows you to see what title sets correspond to on the DVD.
Source and Presets
Part of the main screen, this area allows you to select your source and destination drives. These will be the same of course if you are using one device to both reaqd and write. The working folder is where the files are stored befre burning to the new disk. If you are not using dual layered media, then the rest of the options will apply. You can choose to include or exclude certain features, freeing up more room for the video, allowing for less compression, allowing for better quality video. 1Click DVD Copy Pro includes some popular presets for these selection and the compression bar (located on the properties window) will show you what compression will be needed for each preset. A nice feature.
Copy Presets
These are the copy presets as described above. You can see what the preset includes and the level of quality. Of course we recommend a dual layer burner along with dual layer writable media to make an exact copy of the entire disk, but even the compressed versions are excellent.
Properties Window
For further customization, you can use this window to include or exclude differnt title sets. A title set is basically a different part of the video. For example, the menu is one title set, the actual movie is another, and so forth. This will enable to to include exactly what you want, and adjust compressions rates for each depending on importance.
Audio and Subtitles
Each title set and menu may contain one or more audio selections and/or subtitle selections. This enables you to furthur customize your copy to your needs.
Video Preview
This is a great feature. It allows you to correspond which title sets belong to which part of the disk. This window was not designed to be a player. You can drag the slider back and forth to explore that title set, but it will not actually play the DVD.
Additional Options
These additional options are basically self explanatory. More information is available in the help file contained in the program and accessible by clicking on the “?” located on the main screen.
Burn Screen
After the copying is complete, this dialog box will pop up. If you use the same device for writing and reading your DVDs, then it will prompt you to insert a blank DVD. If you use separate devices to read and write DVDs, then the copying process can be completed in only one step. Whichever applies to you, you will have the option to change the DVD volume name and writing speed before the burning commences. The programmers have built in a 20 second delay prior to burning beginning in case you want to make any last minute changes.
